    Old Mission Capital is a global multi-asset quantitative trading firm with offices in Chicago, New York City and London. In the competitive world of electronic trading, we use quantitative techniques and advanced technology to identify profitable trading opportunities around the globe. We are looking to hire a junior quant trader/trading assistant to join our team in NYC to work under the mentorship of our senior traders.

    Responsibilities

    Our traders work in teams to seek out and profitably trade mispriced securities. The junior quantitative trader/trading assistant job responsibilities will include disciplined decision making, risk management, derivative pricing, and researching new opportunities. This junior quantitative trader/trading assistant will be working under the mentorship of our senior traders.

    Qualifications

    • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, or one of the hard sciences.
    • Candidates must be proficient coding with one of the following languages: Python, Java, C++, VBA, R, Matlab, Ruby.
    • Candidates must have 1 year of relevant experience consisting of trading and research with a primary focus on global equities.
    • Experience focused on medium frequency market –neutral systematic trading strategies
    • The ability to work and solve problems as part of a team, often in a high-pressure environment.
    • Proven trustworthiness and performance under the highest ethical standards;
    • A strong desire for knowledge and to understand how things work.
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
