Overview

Old Mission Capital, a global quantitative proprietary trading firm is currently hiring an experienced quantitative trader/researcher to join our Chicago office.

 

This Senior Quantitative Trader/Researcher will have experience with systematic medium or high frequency strategies for US and Global Equities. Strategies could include market-making, stat arb or similar. Our traders work on teams, in a collaborative environment, to seek out and profitably trade mispriced securities. 

Responsibilities

The job responsibilities will include disciplined decision making, risk management, derivative pricing, researching new opportunities and executing hedge trades. The role will also consist of detailed research and analysis of live trading strategies as well as investigating new strategies and/or business opportunities. This position allows you to use your market making experience with our technology and make an immediate contribution to our firm.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or one of the hard sciences.
  • 7+ years of relevant equity trading experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: C++, Python, VBA, R, Matlab, Ruby, Java. 
  • Expertise developing statistical arbitrage strategies and managing risk.
  • Expertise developing and testing various alpha strategies, signal tilting/combination logic, prediction indicators, etc.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills to solve complex problems
  • The ability to work and solve problems as part of a team, often in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proven trustworthiness and performance under the highest ethical standards 
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Series 57 license is preferred but NOT a must
  • The successful candidate must have valid work authorization to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship
