Overview

Old Mission Capital, a quantitative proprietary trading firm with offices in Chicago, New York and London is currently recruiting Software Development interns for the summer of 2018. Students who intend to graduate (from undergraduate, masters, or PhD. Programs) in 2018 or 2019 are encouraged to apply. Outstanding interns will be evaluated for a full-time position upon graduation.  U.S. permanent work authorization is required and sponsorship is NOT provided. 

 

Software Development Interns will work out of our Chicago office for 10 weeks. The office is located in the city’s River North neighborhood, a vibrant, dynamic location known for its top dining and entertainment sites. For more information about our firm, please visit www.oldmissioncapital.com.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

Interns with quantitative skills work alongside our talented software developers creating impactful solutions to further the firm’s market initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and supporting C++ based trading applications and tools. You will be given immediate responsibilities which will significantly contribute to the firm’s daily activities. Weekly classes provide interns with the opportunity to learn more about the tools needed to support electronic trading as well as creative programming.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have: 

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • A quantitative major
  • Knowledge of C++ and Python, SQL 
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of systems programming, data structures and algorithms 
  • A strong work ethic and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
